Ruth Codd, the actress known for her roles in 'The Fall of the House of Usher' and 'How to Train Your Dragon,' has bravely undergone a second below-the-knee amputation. This news highlights her incredible resilience and determination. The 29-year-old Irish actress, who also gained popularity on TikTok, recently shared this update with her followers. She's a true inspiration!
Codd's career spans various projects, including the live-action movie 'How to Train Your Dragon' and TV shows like 'Irish Blood,' 'Celebrity Traitors,' 'Midnight Club,' and 'The Fall of the House of Usher.'
In a candid TikTok post titled "No legs who dis?" Codd shared that she is now residing at her parents' home. She's creating TikTok content, but is limited to the first floor due to the inability to use the stairs.
In a previous video, Codd explained that the surgery was necessary because she had damaged her left leg by overcompensating for the injury to her right leg, which she had been using crutches for eight years.
She lost her first leg due to complications from a soccer injury at age 15. Codd revealed that she was always on her tiptoes, which destroyed the joints in her feet. Her toes were initially amputated before surgeons removed her second foot and calf.
Codd's words reflect a powerful perspective on her journey. She stated, "My quality of life... it's never going to get any better from this point. They can only kind of stop it from getting worse. The amount of health problems and stuff I've had the last year, I haven't let it stop me from doing anything, but I feel like it has hindered me and made my ability to do my job more difficult." But here's where it gets controversial... She added, "I have been through this once before, so I think, with two prosthetics, I'll be pretty unstoppable."
