The Future is Not Set: Terminator: Survivors Delayed
In a recent announcement that has left fans in suspense, NACON revealed that Terminator: Survivors has been indefinitely delayed. But that's not all; the game's co-op multiplayer feature has been scrapped, and it won't be making its way to Steam Early Access as originally planned.
NACON's vision for Terminator: Survivors was to create an authentic, open-world Terminator experience. However, after extensive testing, the developers have decided to shift their focus solely to the single-player aspect of the game. They aim to deliver an immersive shooting and exploration experience that will keep players on the edge of their seats.
But here's where it gets controversial... The game's release date has been pushed back indefinitely, and there's no concrete timeline in sight. NACON promises an engaging story with additional missions and narratives that delve deeper into the Terminator universe. Players will encounter iconic movie characters and some fresh faces along the way.
Set in the year 2009, just after Judgment Day, Terminator: Survivors will feature a lone T-800, a decision the developers claim is true to the franchise's lore. They believe this choice will enhance the game's scariness and authenticity.
And this is the part most people miss... As a fan, I believe Terminator: Survivors should take inspiration from Terminator: Resistance. We crave a new, narrative-driven single-player Terminator game, not another PvE or extraction shooter. NACON's initial vision may have missed the mark, but we're hopeful that the developers will deliver an experience that satisfies our Terminator cravings.
Stay tuned for more updates! We'll keep you informed as we navigate this uncertain future with Terminator: Survivors.
